Difficulty

Challenge mode dungeons aren't for the feint of heart. They bring regular Heroic dungeons to a whole new level for all types of players. Consisting of a list of required trash to kill and every boss needing to be killed for the dungeons respectful achievement. Therefore, they added 3 sets of timers to make it easier for casuals to hardcore to compete at levels equal to that of their gameplay.

Rewards

These fantastic sets set players apart from one another just knowing they completed these pain-stakingly hard feats. You get another 25 more achievement points to give a grand whopping 430 points after completing every challenge dungeon on gold. However, theres even more! You also get a portal to each challenge mode dungeon for future use or just to simply get around the world faster. They're on an 8 hour cd but reset when you complete a challenge mode!

Still not enough?

Preperation

Gold, silver and bronze timers all give a different level of competition due to their time requirements for each level. Bronze gives a broad level of entry just to give people an introduction of what to expect. Going hand in hand with this is silver level dungeons bringing up the requirement for casuals to a new level requiring players to step of their level of gameplay. Bringing us to the final level of gold where the timers for some dungeons can be tight. At this gold level players will begin to find ways to make pulls faster and min/maxing every aspect of the classes they bring to the dungeon and similar with the mechanics. Players will be looking to bring dps potions and flasks to burn their enemies down faster. While also strategically using invisibility potions to bypass unnecessary trash. However, this can be risky considering your dps has ot be strong enough to kill bosses fast enough when an invis pot puts all pots on a 10m cd...no more dps pots.

Tips and Tricks for Completing Challenge Modes

  • Use dps pots as much as possible
  • Look at realistic timers for finishing and make a spreadsheat of when to use cd's

Temple of Jade Serpent

  • First boss (Wise Mari): range stack in a corner. AoE heal and do more damage due to lack of movement.
  • Pulling before 2nd boss: Pull beatle from across the bridge. Massive AoE pull or kill a pack or two and invis pot through.
  • Trash before third boss: Leave 1 patrol mob up in CC and kill him last while having him engaged with pandas so the pandas burn the boss.
  • Last boss: Stack up so you can AoE adds.

Stormstout Brewery

  • Using Battlehorn in the first room kills all the channeling fire mobs.
  • Trash that spawns ~12 mobs before last boss you can LoS around the pillar in the room.
  • With proper positioning a person can soak 2 beams from the adds trying to heal the boss.

Siege of Niuzao Temple

  • With cd's permiting chain pull slimes for high stacks to get through first area faster.
  • On the third boss: Wait till 75% and boss puts barrier up around him. Tank runs in and Battle Horns all adds to him and uses lots of cd's. Dps/healer throw bombs onto everything.

Shado-Pan Monastery

  • Adds after first boss burn lowest health and pull everything.
  • The healer can leave early during the above mentioned adds to start the gauntlet.
  • LoS the trash inside the dojo around a pillar to stack the trash for AoE.
  • With banners run past the trash after the 2nd boss and die in front of third. Rez up and continue.
  • CC the 2 adds and have all 5 people click on the panda at the same time to get x4 credit at once.

Scholomance

  • Attack the boss then as many of the 3 casters as you can. They all count towards kill count and die instantly.
  • Death Knight's can control undead a zombie and let it hit really hard on the boss.
  • After Jillian a tank can run in Battle horn and pull all the trash out and LoS around the corner for AoEing.
  • After the Third boss, pull a few mobs and kill 2-3 then run into the middle of the room and Battle Horn again with CD's rolling. AoE nuke the room.
  • Save cd's for 60% on the fourth boss and skip her copy cat phase.
  • You can save a pot on the 4th boss and invis pot past the students before the 5th boss.
  • Priests: can mass dispell inside the last boss's add room to kill all the adds instantly.

Scarlet Monastery

  • The Frenzied adds on the first boss can be mind-controled or control undead by a priest/death knight for massive damage on the boss.
  • Invis pot past the courtyard of adds.
  • Inside the chapel before the last boss make sure to interupt/LoS the casters (They're brutal on tank dmg).

Scarlet Halls

  • On the first boss after killing the adds run back into a wall near the courtyard entrances. This resets the boss and you can go again for more kill count.
  • Invis pot past the massive amount of adds prior to the 2nd boss.
  • Standing on the candle stick in the last bosses room makes it so you dont get hit by dragon's breath!

Mogu'shan Palace

  • On the first pull use lots of cd's and pull everything prior to the boss. Chain AoE stuns/silences.
  • Invis past some trash before the 2nd boss.
  • Clump up the adds/second boss for AoE cleaving. Focus the healing add down!

Gate of the Setting Sun

  • There's a few places where if the group runs into a corner they can avoid being hit from all the bombs on the trash prior to the boss.
  • If you get sabotaged run to a wall behind a pillar to avoid massive bomb explosions going off everywhere.
  • Dying on the 2nd boss and returning in can give you a 2nd lust for the last boss's weak spot phase!
  • You can mass pull all the trash before the third boss and have the boss AoE cleave the adds down (tank use cd's).
